Playin' Hooky

Yesterday Mark and I decided that we needed a break. So, we took work off and headed up to Park City to ski at The Canyons. It was so fun! we used some passes that we had been saving so we had a lovely free time! I was completely exhausted! I've never been skiing all day before and I'm feelin' it today! but it was very worth it to spend the entire day with my love muffin!

BYU v. Air Force

Saturday we went to the BYU game with Mark's brother Steven and nephew Matthew. Don't mind my hair, I came straight from an overnight trip.

We might have to go to all of the games next season just so we can have access to these! This here is a "Cougar Tail". It is about a foot and a half long maple bar doughnut. Amazing!

Matthew enjoying his frozen lemonade. It was cold out, but he insisted.

The Best Two Years..... Ever!

I'm a slacker and never posted our anniversary. It was October 11th. We had a pretty low key day. We kept up with tradition and spent part of the day in Park City. Here we are making a quick stop at Bridal Veil Falls. It was very windy, so that is why my hair is so funky... FYI.

The cutest boy in the world!

When we were driving in PC we saw this tree will all these shoes on it and thought it was awesome!

We went to lunch, walked around Main st. and then got some dessert at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Mark got a chocolate dipped ice cream and i had the best caramel apple i have ever had in my entire life! mmmmm.

here is Mark so sad that his ice cream is gone.

It was a great great time! I'm so lucky i have been able to spend the last two years with this boy and i can't wait for forever!

Shelly and the Kids

My Sister-in-Law Shelly and her kids have been in town this week. On Thursday we had dinner with them at the Porcupine Grill. Mark and I had a lot of fun and had a very different experience than we are used to (kids are crazy).

Here are some pictures outside the restaurant. I was so mad when we got home and looked at the pictures and saw that this is the only one with Shelly in it!

Of course all of the kids love Mark. Evan started to chase him in the parking lot, so the other two had to join in. This is Abby shoving all the stuff she was holding into my arms so she could go get Mark.

Nathan about to get Mark

After dinner we went to see where they were staying

ADC 5K

So last weekend Mark and I participated in a 5K race for ADC (Association for Deaf Children) It was so great! We signed up about 2 months before, but didn't end up really training for it until the week before. I like to run, but haven't really done it in a long long time, and Mark has never really been a runner. But, we thought it would be a good motivator for us to get into better shape.

So for those of you who don't know, a 5K is 3.1 miles. two days before the race we ran 2.8 miles. then the day before we were sissys and only ran about 1.something. But we thought we would do just great. and we did!!

Here we are before the race:

and here is the heard at the start:

So now for the drama. So in the race they had a couple spots where they had water stations. (you grab a cup of water as you run by) also, the people who "work" at the station tell you where to go. Apparently one of the "workers" didn't get the memo to tell everyone to turn, so we kept going straight.... and all ended up running 4.25 miles instead of the 3.1 we signed up for.

I was actually excited to find out we ran further than anticipated because towards the end i was really hurting. I couldn't figure out why i was so tired and winded. Now I feel better knowing it wasn't just me!

Here is Mark just about to cross the finish line. Why is Callie so far behind you might ask??

Because she was holding out so she could sprint the end and pass him up!!

So we wound up running 4.25 miles in 42 minutes! not to bad for amateurs.

Here is our cheesy photo shoot after we had caught our breath. (i looked awful after i finished, so you dont get the immediately after pics)

We had a great time! and are excited to find more races to run in!

Date Night

So I have been wanting to get some sunglasses since I got contacts. I haven't had sun glasses for quite some time because anytime i would have been wearing them (driving mostly) I had to wear the real glasses. But, that is no longer an issue.

So last night Mark and I went to the mall and tried on a bunch of sunglasses. It was pretty random, but we had fun. I have no idea what really looks good on me, but we decided that square-ish and black were my best look.

We tried on some pretty fancy ($$$) ones though. crazy.

We also check out some bikes. In connection with my fetish for Spring to come, I have been wanting to get a bike, so as to more fully enjoy the wonderful weather that I'm hoping will come sooner rather than later (stupid groundhog).

I'm still holding out for my beach cruiser.

I like this one, but it needs a basket.
