You're Probably Sick of Reading This But .....

I really do have the GREATEST husband in the world!!! He is the cutest, most considerate, Sweetest, greatest guy in the whole world!! Let me tell you about how wonderful he is to me.

So cash is a greatly valued commodity in our little family. We rarely have cash. But whenever I do, i cherish it. Really I save it for days that I didn't have time to make lunch so i don't starve at school. And so that i can occasionally buy a snack from the vending machines. So, yesterday we went skiing and afterward we stopped at Mark's parents house and chatted with Wendy (who happened to be there.) I was sitting at the kitchen table talking to her, Mark was running around doing something that needed to be done (typical, getting things done!) Anyway, I was sitting there and Mark came up to me and handed me one of these:

I wanted to cry I was so happy. I know that sounds weird, it's just a dollar he got in change, but he could have kept it for himself but instead he gave it to me. He loves me! It actually made me feel really selfish too, because anytime I have cash, as i mentioned, i cherish it and tend to hoard it.

Next example of my fabulous husband! If i even happen to mention that I am interested in getting something (especially if it would be something just for me) Mark will get it. Not only will he get it for me, he will get it for a SCREAMIN' deal. I promise I love him (and our bank account) enough to not abuse this power, it just amazes me every time. Most of the time I don't even remember that i mentioned that i want something, when it will just show up. And he never forgets!!! I even made an offhand comment that I noticed a bunch of girls in my class have a certain kind of water bottle and hours later, he's on the hunt. The latest example was my recent post about me wanting a bike. Hmmm, guess who has a new bike!!!!! He got me this really nice Trek mountain bike (and a lock) for only $45.00! (yet again, thank you craig's list for getting us in contact with people who have no idea how much their stuff is worth!) The only problem with it was that the front tire was flat and needed a new tube. We barely got the bike last night, and he already has fixed it! My hero!!!

Last example of my fabulous husband! So I am all alone tonight, Mark is camping with the scouts (sniff sniff). Anyway Mark had to leave before I got home, but when i walked in the door he had my favorite cologne of his sitting out and a note that said "feel free to spray me around." Isn't he so freakin cute???!!!!!!! I noticed that he had already sprayed it a little, and i seriously had to walk around and smell everything for about 5 minutes. It smelled so good and made me miss him so much!

So there you have it, I'm officially the luckiest woman there ever was!

Oh The Crazies I See

Long time blog reader, first time poster. I really just want to express my concerns about three individuals I have encountered in public over the past two days. Who raised these kids?!

Case #1
I knew I was bound to see something really exciting sooner or later riding public transportation. There I was keeping to myself thinking about anything but Chemistry/Biology, when I was rudely interrupted by a very angry couple. I am not too sure what the deal was, but some how the guy ended up in the seat right in front of me. Because his "girl" would not talk to him, he just sat sad as could be by his lonesome. To cope with he recent rejection he thought it might be a good time to roll up his bag of weeds. What a nut.

Case #2 & 3
We needed to pick up a few things from the store this evening, and this is where it all went south. I noticed this really tall woman with a cast on her leg and frizzy red hair right when we walked into the store. She was walking just ahead of us, and stopped by the small Jelly Belly dispenser on the end of an aisle. She then proceeded to open the lid, take a piece, and engulf it! I thought that was illegal. . .Just wait, it gets worse. I let that one slide, but then I saw her later on with a bag filled with the glorious beans. She was just snacking away as she was checking out the magazines, BEFORE she checked out! As many of you may know, candy is purchased by the pound when self scooped. Interesting how she will not be charged for the pound in her tummy.

Then this girl who was probably on her way to a chess club meeting (NERD) cut in front of us as we were waiting in line for the self-checkout. She realized that we were possibly waiting for the next available lane as she was and said "you were not waiting in line were you?" . Who is this girl?! Then she got behind us. . .get a load of this. . .She then ran to the next available self-checkout after she just confirmed we were next!

Callie was there for #2 and #3 and I needed to share my experiences with others. I hope you kind of liked it.

Chess

So I'm not really sure why, but I have been really into playing chess lately. It all started a couple Sunday's ago and Mark and I were going through all of our games and playing a few. We played a game of chess and I should have won, but who knew that you HAVE to say "check" before you can kill the other guys king? not me. So Mark has always beaten me.... Until last night! I actually won! I've never won at chess before. I have absolutely no strategy except to try to kill the other guy and not get killed myself. So i know Mark is getting sick of me reminding him that i beat him, but I'm just so amazed with myself! This is the last time I'll bring it up honey I promise!

Date Night

So I have been wanting to get some sunglasses since I got contacts. I haven't had sun glasses for quite some time because anytime i would have been wearing them (driving mostly) I had to wear the real glasses. But, that is no longer an issue.

So last night Mark and I went to the mall and tried on a bunch of sunglasses. It was pretty random, but we had fun. I have no idea what really looks good on me, but we decided that square-ish and black were my best look.

We tried on some pretty fancy ($$$) ones though. crazy.

We also check out some bikes. In connection with my fetish for Spring to come, I have been wanting to get a bike, so as to more fully enjoy the wonderful weather that I'm hoping will come sooner rather than later (stupid groundhog).

I'm still holding out for my beach cruiser.

I like this one, but it needs a basket.

Ready For Spring!

I am so so so ready for Spring. I've been thinking about it a lot lately because the last two days have been not quite so freakin cold (low 40's). I know this kinda seams like a repeat from Groundhogs day, but that should let you know how serious I am about my desire for warm weather. So in honor of this wish, I have changed my background to something more warm and inviting!

Valentine's Day

So here is a photo recap of our Valentines day this year. We started it off with a fabulous breakfast, made by me. This was the first year we didn't go out for breakfast for Valentine's, but we both agreed that my cookin' was better than both previous years. So here are some breakfast pics. Sorry we werent' in them, we weren't exactly dressed appropriately if you know what i mean.

Heart shaped waffles

and poppy seed muffins

So after breakfast Mark left to go observe and assist at "Give Kids a Smile." It's a once a year thing where dentists volunteer their time to work on less privileged kids.

While he was gone i finished my Valentine's cookies I started the night before.
Aren't they so cute?? Just so you know, they were delicious! Between my Beehive class, family dinner, and my visiting teaching girls, and not to mention Mark and I, they are all gone now.
So Mark finally got home and we opened presents

Mark got me this little photo album. It is full of lots of choices for me to choose different dates that we can go on. For each "choice" there was a picture of Mark acting it out.
So hear are some sample pictures that were in the album. Mark is so freakin cute!!!

This is the intro pic

This was for my "spa day"

Mark will make me cookies

Mark will make dinner (while i watch)

a ski trip (like i need a coupon for that. Mark would take me in a heart beat)

A movie rental night

And here is me with my beautiful flowers! (He also got me the shirt)

So we took a video of my gift to Mark, but it won't load for some reason. Just in case some of you don't know what i did, over the past two weeks i have been learning to play a song on the guitar. This was quite a task for me, seeing as i dont and have never played the guitar. It turned out OK. Of course i started crying in the middle of it and ruined it.

So after presents Mark and I went snow shoeing and stopped by Wendy's to say hello. Then we came home and watched a movie for about 20 minutes at which point we both fell asleep. It was great!

Can You Say YUMMY??

So as you have probably deduced, Smith's was having a sale on Ben and Jerry's. Mark and I went thinking we would get two or three, nope, we got 14! We really love our ice cream! In case you want to know, they were on sale for $1.80 each. (As opposed to the normal $4.something each) The sale was only happening for a few hours today, so we jumped on it.

In our defense, one of them is for Wendy.

Snow Shoeing

So today Mark and I decided to break out his snow shoes and go for a little hike. It had been snowing all morning, so we thought it would be perfect, and it was! We had so much fun and took lots of pictures... so here they are.

Disclaimer: I wore some of Mark's ski pants and they make me look quite a bit larger than I really am. Just something to keep in mind ;)

I was trying to get a picture of Mark jumping, this is the best one i got

So then we found this rock and tried to do a series of jumping. (I tried too, but the pics didn't really turn out, and the landing kinda hurt)

So before Mark did his jumping, he put our poles into a teepee, so i had him do a little posing. Such a dork! I love him!

Just a bunch of dorks

My favorite picture ever!!

Can you find me?

Skiing

So yesterday Mark and I took advantage of Alta's ski free at 3:00. We actually got there at about 3:30 so by the time we got there the lines were really long. (we decided to not go on weekends anymore, there are just too many people) But, we got two runs in and it was just great great fun. The first time we went down I was terrified because i basically had to re-learn everything. or at least remember it. But once i got the hang of it again i wasn't quite as scared.

I was pretty apprehensive because it was snowing pretty hard. So here are the pics we got getting extra bundled up.

Mark's new favorite picture. Seriously he set it as our desktop

Just two little Eskimo's

The ride back down. Can you see that we were above the clouds?

I Have the Greatest Husband Ever!!

So yesterday was a great day really, just not so great because I didn't have time to eat anything all day. Really, the only thing i ate all day from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm was one little peanut butter and jelly sandwich. (And i didn't even like it... the jelly tasted weird.) But, i was on the bus home after all my classes, and i was talking to Mark about what we are going to have for dinner. We had about zero food in the house because i was trying not to go shopping this week. (we had a lot of abnormal expenses recently and the $ was pretty much gone.) But, Mark said he would figure something out. So i finally got home, i walk in the door, and Mark has the table set very nicely, had gone to the store to get some essentials, and had made us spaghetti! isnt he the cutest?? He even got us some delicious garlic bread to go along with it! AND he was so romantic and put all the spaghetti onto one big plate and we both ate out of it, just like that cartoon! And the best part is that it was sooooo good! granted i was absolutely staving, but it was really the best ever! He is pretty much the most dreamy guy in the whole wide world!

Weekend Events

So Mark and I spent this weekend up at his parents house. Friday night for some reason Mark really wanted to go to this restaurant in Sandy called "The Philadelphian." Lets just say it was the dirtiest most disgusting place EVER. But Mark kept assuring me that the sandwiches were worth it. So I ordered a turkey sandwich, and Mark ordered a cheese steak sandwich. So, we got the food after about a half an hour in terror at being in such a filthy place and went to his parents house. We sat down, opened up our sandwiches to find that my turkey sandwich was just that. White bread with about a pound of turkey. that's it. no mayo, mustard, lettuce. Nothing. Then Mark opens his sandwich to discover that they forgot the cheese on his cheese steak. minor detail. So it was a pretty big disappointment.

But despite dinner, we still had a fun night and just hung out and watched the chassic "Top Gun". I had never really realized how extremely cheesy that movie is (unlike Mark's sandwich. Ha Ha i just crack myself up!)

Anyway, Mark's parents are out of town so we thought this would be a great time to surprise his Mom for her birthday in a couple weeks. She has wanted some things done at her house, so we took care of it this weekend. The first thing was that she wanted this closet painted. (Her dream has always been to open her closet and all of white her dishes will just "pop" out. (Silly? maybe. Cute? yes.)

So here are some "before" pictures

Second. She wanted the wall paper taken down from her laundry room

So now for the work pictures

Mark's brother Steven

Cute Wendy in the sink

Steven and boys:

no comment. (in my defense, I have been sick all week)

Pizza break!
The mayhem

All done! We left a birthday message with our hand prints on the newly wallpaper-less wall

Overall, it was a lot of work but a lot of fun!
