It's Official

I've been thinking about signing up to do Mary Kay for a while now, and I finally decided to do it! So, it's official. I got my "starter kit" yesterday equipped with everything i need to do parties. I went to my first meeting last night, and must confess, I'm scared. I'm not really a "salesman" and WILL NOT be pushy. I couldn't live with myself.

So, that being said, I'm placing my first order tomorrow so if you would like something please let me know nowish. If you think you might want something, but don't know what, give me a call and I'll TRY to help you. Remember I'm just starting and don't know everything yet. But i have tried most everything, so we'll see what i can do.

So, everyone take a look at my website:

My Congressional Man

I don't know if any of you have heard of the Congressional Award?? It's an award that the government gives you for completing so many hours of service. It's pretty cool. anyway, Mark has been working on it REALLY hard for the past year or so and we just found out that he got it! There are different levels that you can get (bronze, silver, gold) and he got ALL THREE! he is so cool.

so this week we got the bronze and silver medals in the mail. They give the gold at a special ceremony in D.C. (or if you cant go they will mail it to you) But, we REALLY want to go to D.C. because how cool would that be??!! Mark has a really good friend and his wife that live "a 5 minute bike ride" from the white house and they have offered us their apartment and their bikes to get around on. So, that means that all we would have to do is pay for the plane tickets!!! However, us being poor poor students can't afford even that. So Mark, my little fundraiser, has written letters to several prominent members of our society (including Pres. Obama and Orrin Hatch and other "important" people) asking for "financial assistance to aid us in participating in this tremendous honor." We're crossing our fingers that that will somehow work!

Here is a picture of the medals. Sorry i had to get it off the internet. Mark was being all embarrassed and wouldn't take a picture with his medals.

Return to Sender

So some of you may remember this post. We made those cookies specifically for Mark's cousin Briant who was doing summer sales in California at the time. We sent a bunch of the cookies with some other goodies. here is the stamp of when we sent them.

Sadly, Briant never did receive the package. We assumed it was lost in the mail. Until yesterday that is, when we got a package slip in our mailbox. Mark and I were both really excited because we weren't expecting anything. So, Mark picked up the package and, you guessed it. We FINALLY got it back in the mail. Yep, 11 months later, we got it.

So we invited Briant over to let him open his package, almost a year later.

Here he is looking at his stash. We sent him the cookies, Lego fruit snacks, Parmesan goldfish, parachute army men, and a nice copy of a now very outdated Ensign.

To say the least, the cookies were now a bit scary. They weren't really moldy per say, but there was some definite fuzz in the containers.

Here is Briant being very brave in getting this cookie this close to his mouth.

All in all, it was pretty hilarious. Have any of you ever gotten a package back after this long??

Park City: Day 4

Today is Friday, and after our classes we headed on back to good ol' PC. Robert & Katrina and fam, and Steven & Samantha and fam were all up here already, so we joined them. We all brought stuff for chocolate fondue and had a grand time eating it.

This is probably the worst picture i could have got of everyone, but it shows how much we were enjoying it!

Spencer was LOVING it!!

And then the boys played the wii
After food and fun we all headed down to the pools. The girls soaked in the hottubs while the boys played in the pool. It was so fun!

Road Trip Anyone???

So a few months ago Mark signed up to get "official travel guides" to all 50 states. Why? He just thought it would be cool. So they have been trickling in, sometimes one at a time, sometimes 13 at a time. At one point we got so many in one day they wouldn't fit in our mailbox. So here they are in all their glory!

We did count, and are still missing a couple (Connecticut, South Carolina, California, and West Virginia) So they were either lost in the mail (post to come about this) or not sent.

Holy Crap! I Can't Wait!!

To My AZ (and TX) Family: You are So Lucky!!!

This is what I woke up to yesterday. Yes in the MIDDLE OF APRIL we had a Massive snow storm. I know this picture is bad, i had to take it from my car with my phone. Yes, those are bikes, cars, trees, telephone poles... completely covered in mounds of snow. I wanted to cry. I took the bus to school and had to ask the driver which bus it was because all the numbers were covered in snow. I miss being warm so much!!!

Park City: Day 3

Ok, so i don't have any pictures this time, but Mark and I went up by ourselves on Tuesday. We went skiing and had so much fun! The snow was actually pretty bad and very slow, but that was GREAT for me since my biggest problem is that i get going so fast i cant stop. It was also raining the entire time so we were soaked, but had a great great time!

After that we went back to the condo and hung out and made dinner. We ate, and watched The Office, and Seinfeld, and played chess. Then we went down to the hot tub and soaked. Once it got too hot we ran over to the the big pool and swam, then ran back to the hot tub. It was great.

Then we went and visited Robert and Katrina who were staying in the other condo down the hall. It was such a great and relaxing day!

Park City: Day 2

So the next morning (Easter) we got up and went to church at the one and only Park City ward. I know, who would have ever thought a town in Utah would only have one ward. Anyway, it was a great meeting. Anyway, then we went back to the hotel and hung out, played games, and took naps. Oh, and ate junk food!

This is me making us some yummy oreo shakes (blizzards as i have always called them thanks to good old Dairy Queen)

I usually make this in my Kitchen Aid, but all i had here was a big pot.

Mark was so excited to eat the whole thing!

Me and Wendy eating our blizzards and getting ready to play Monopoly!

A while later, i was still craving some Oreo's, so i got a little plate of them with a glass of milk. Mark also thought that would be a good idea and thought the best time to go in for a gulp of my drink was exactly when i was.

Saturday Easter Brunch

Today is Saturday, the day before Easter. We had a brunch with all of Mark's family at his parent's house. It was so much fun, and the food was AMAZING. Here are a few pics.
The beautiful table setting

Me and Katrina

The Easter egg hunt
After the hunt, all the little boys went shopping with Grandpa. Here they are with their loot.

Cute Wendy and Caden

Before we ate, we had a little "Easter thought" with everyone. Caden sang the opening song; here it is:

Easter Basket

So, last year was Mark and I's first Easter together. We didn't do anything, and i felt very lame about it. So this year i surprised Mark with his very own Easter basket equiped with all sorts of treats. Mark went on a scout camp out last night (Friday) so while he was gone i went to the store and bought all the accesories and parafenelia. I put it all together (and of course i had to make it as cute as possilbe, because that is what makes it so fun. and you may be thinking, yeah Callie, it's not that cute. Trust me, it is much cuter in real life) and wrote a nice gushy note. I also made some yummy reece's cookies because Mark has been wanting them for a while. Happy Easter babe! I love you!

Tragedy

So for some strange reason our apartment complex has decided to change internet providers. Before, we paid like $50 for 6 months or something like that. I know, a great deal. And on top of that the speed was pretty good too. But, now they have elected to switch to something else that costs $30 per MONTH and is supposedly much faster.

We both thought it was fast enough and are not interested in paying so much money for the internet. We told our apartment people this, but they didnt listen to us. So the end of the story is that we no longer have Internet access from our apartment. I am afraid that as a result of this my blogging is going to take a serious hit. I know, that is the tragedy part. But, i'm hoping that this is really a blessing in disguise. Now i think both Mark and I will be much more productive without the distraction of constantly checking emails and blogs. Mark is pretty bummed because this means that he will have much less time to find killer deals, but now we wont be tempted to buy things we dont really need. But, we can still access it for free at the library, school, and work so all is not lost.

So Excited!

I can't wait for General Conference this weekend! Here are some videos that I've seen lately that really impacted me:
